What is eBay KYC and How to Register
KYC or Know Your Customer is a vetting process created by eBay to control sellers’ trading limit. Once trades reach a certain limit, the seller’s trades will be blocked and they will receive a message from eBay asking them to complete their KYC.
Depending on the business account type of the seller, they will be required to provide a few scanned documents that will then be verified by eBay to successfully complete the KYC registration process.
What Documents are Needed?
The documents provided depend on the seller’s account origin country and the type of account; either an individual account or business account. The standard documents that will be required are:
- Valid ID card
- Valid Passport
- Bank Statement (last 90 days)
You can view the list of required documents here.
Once you have uploaded the documents, eBay takes typically 2-3 business days to respond with an approval or rejection. If they need more information, they will get in touch with you.
What are the Criteria?
First and foremost, you need to have a seller’s account on eBay. Once you have started selling domestically, you will need to receive at least 10 positive feedbacks before you are able to start selling globally. If you submit your forms before achieving that, eBay will reject your submission.
