DHL Express Malaysia and Everpeaks sign MoU to help local SMEs go global
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November , 2018: DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Everpeaks Consulting, a local multi-channel e-commerce solutions provider for an Accelerator Programme which will see SMEs benefiting from an end-to-end consultation, management and fulfilment for their e-commerce business.
From January 2019, SMEs can focus on product development and production, and leverage on the Accelerator Programme for their other e-commerce requirements. Everpeaks recognises that logistics and fulfilment are crucial to the success of SMEs and navigating the complexities of international trade can be daunting, especially for SMEs who are just starting out. For these reasons, Everpeaks is bringing on board DHL Express, with its extensive global network and outstanding quality service, for the Accelerator Programme.
Ooi Chooi Lee, Head of Commercial for DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei shared at the MoU signing, “As 97% of Malaysian businesses are SMEs1, it is important that they look overseas to capture a wider market and grow their business. Going global also means SMEs can price their products more competitively and increase their sales. With e-commerce and an efficient logistics framework in place, SMEs are able to ship to virtually anywhere in the world. DHL Express is committed to growing together with local SMEs, and assisting them with their logistics operations and having every parcel successfully delivered.”
The exclusive partnership will see DHL Express as the sole logistics partner who will manage all shipping needs such as international trade facilitation, track and trace of deliveries, and handling of returns for SMEs who sign up for Everpeaks’ Accelerator Programme. SMEs will also benefit from a special shipping rate, a dedicated account manager, web-based tools that will ease the tracking and tracing of each parcel, and increased customer satisfaction.
Joachim Sebastian, Managing Director of Everpeaks Consulting said, “From experience, SMEs in Malaysia are lean but typically commit significant resources to product development, marketing and business administration. This makes investing into building an e-commerce team not only expensive but also time consuming, and can hinder their overseas expansion plans. By working with us, SMEs benefit from the expertise of experienced e-commerce personnel for a fraction of the cost, who can help them to successfully implement their e-commerce strategies.
“The idea behind the Accelerator Programme is to grow SMEs to meet their full potential in the global market. We chose to partner with DHL Express because we trust in the dependability, performance and quality of their delivery service. Logistics and fulfilment are the backbone of e-commerce and can pose a big business risk if executed poorly. Partnering with DHL Express will provide Malaysian SMEs access to the global market,” added Sebastian.
SMEs who sign up for the Accelerator Programme will have their e-commerce business completely managed by Everpeaks for 12 months. Everpeaks will research, evaluate and analyse the SME’s competitors, target industry and device a tailored strategy. They will also manage operations of the SMEs including online marketing, platform recommendations, customer service management, content management and order aggregation.
